Apple speaks tom...

According to most press sources out there, at least. I’ll tell you what, though, if it really turns out to be about an issue other than the iPhone 4′s antenna issues, I’ll laugh my goddamn ass off.

Anyway, it sort of relates to what I’m about to talk about now, as I wrap up the most cohesive rant I’ve ever made with a Part 3.

Smallwindows is ...

Did you see what I did there?

In any case, it’s pretty brilliant. It’s about the only real UI feature that I liked from OS X and Compiz, and one that was incredibly useful during my stint at Lucasfilm. In case you have no idea what Expose on the Mac looks like, basically think of it as the window manager Windows Flip 3D should have shamelessly copied, copyright issues be damned.

Which brings me to the 2nd part of my short discussion about Apple products.

New gear

Can mean many things in the context of someone such as I. It can mean a new game, a new program, a new book, a new camera and so on. In this case, it means new camera gear, in the form of a SC-28 hotshoe extension cable for my Nikon D50 dSLR.

I understand completely if you have no idea what I’m babbling about at this point. Suffice to say, it’s a neat little piece of equipment that will allow me to connect my flashgun to my camera remotely via a wired link, enabling me to fire the flashgun from completely independent angles and distances.

Oh yes, D70/80/200/whatever users, don’t think I can’t hear your sniggers. So I neither have wireless flash operation with my D50 nor high-speed flash sync controls, sure. I’ll take my single command dial control any day of the week over dual command dial bullshit.

This is going to...

A study in primary colour contrasts.I can tell.

Around 2 weeks ago, Father’s Day passed us by. The preceding Friday saw me patrolling the giant shithole that is also known as Sungei Gedong, unenviably assigned to perform the duties of a guard, aimlessly meandering around a military compound at the behest of mindless protocols.

Such is the life of a soldier.

I didn’t get anything for my dad this time, not even making one of my customary oops-I-forgot-here-let-me-cook-something-in-Photoshop-real-quick paintings as per my custom in advance. Why, you ask? Well, I could bullshit about being too tired to do one, too busy, too lazy, but truth be told, I just couldn’t find any inspiration about what to do at all.

Panorama d’...

PanoramaPulauTekongA very messy, very lazy panoramic shot of Pulau Tekong that I shot while waiting for our ferry’s arrival at the jetty right after my graduation parade. More importantly, this is my first time using Photoshop’s automated panoramic functions, and I must say, it’s rather startling how my hard work of years previous, aligning images together and painstakingly stitching seams together have now been rendered less than obselete through algorithms.

It’s kind of ironic, then, that I got a D for my Mathematics.

Anyway, yes, I have been a little quiet these past few days, busying myself with the various processes that continue where they left off while I was away. I’m sure you can imagine for yourselves what that actually means. I’m still around; just wait for the Cadburys and Team Fortress 2 to kick in before I get myself back in the mood to actually start writing more again.

Am I an idiot or...

Because how the fuck did I miss something like this? Granted, it’s not on the Wikipedia article either, but seriously, February. That’s like 10 decades in Internet time.

…DigiPen announced in February 2007 that it will set up an Asian campus in Singapore – the school’s first and only campus outside of the US, representing the first institution in the Republic to offer specialised degree-level courses for game development.

- EDB Singapore (DigiPen To Boost Local… dated 01/04/07)

Does this mean that my hopes of actually getting into a university dedicated to my preferred areas of study are finally being realized? Could this be the key in unlocking the door to fame, riches and long, arduous nights of sitting in front of a LCD screen with a Wacom, being sustained by mere coffee? (And I hate coffee, by the way.)

I’m not sure.
