The allure of me...

Has certainly changed the way I’ve lived my life for the past couple of months. Certainly, it’s been a while since I last used this outlet for my form of virtual expression.

But my new semester of school will begin in but a few more days, and I thought it appropriate to at least commit a few more thoughts to bits before said event; it almost certainly guarantees that my time available for such pursuits will be diminished significantly.

Is more like waking up from a nightmare: everything else in comparison seems to be bestowed by the grace of God Himself when you first open your eyes, the last vestiges of whatever evil you were sweating against fading from the edges of your retinas.

Then you look at the clock (which, in my case, entails turning on my phone’s screen) and see that’s it’s too late for breakfast, but still two hours before what normal humans would call “lunchtime”, and you utter silent curses (again, in my case, these curses are much less silent) as you throw back the covers.

I’m back in America, back to my personal freedom, and apart from my new ability (or inability) to get up at a predetermined time of my choice, it’s going just swimmingly. Of course, I don’t have to work or anything, which, I suspect, contributes to a major part of my current euphoria.

Of this semester, that is. Not of life, that would be slightly more disconcerting (not to mention I probably wouldn’t even be writing this post then).

Surprisingly, this time, the workload has been slightly less strenuous, with me actually having spare time at the end of the semester to start idling around on Google Reader, trying to figure out what I should be doing instead of whiling my time away, much like everyone else is.

Spring break

Is traditionally a time period in which students try to enjoy themselves as much as possible, in preparation for the second half of their spring semester at school. For me, it’s seems to be merely an extension of my current life, even if only 2 days of it have transpired so far.

I’ve been keeping myself busy working on my midterm assignment, which consists of drawing…well, there’s no other way to put it. Hands, and feet. Of humans, not fantasy creatures. And judging from what my assignments in other classes are, you can probably tell why I’m feeling a little winded (Not even taking into account, of course, that I try to follow Mr. Loomis’ adage of drawing a hand a day).

Identity theft

Is certainly a major topic on the minds of many people these days, more so in a world that now abides, survives even, on the laws of digital commerce. Such a concept comes in several forms; it can be as horrifying as waking up to your bank accounts showing a grand total of zen zen, zero.

Or, in my case, it could as trivial as someone using my favicon design and nickname as their online persona. Without prior permission.

Observe the favicon in the address bar of whatever browser you’re currently using to access this site at the moment. Then click here and watch, very carefully, as that logo transforms itself into a much more compressed version of itself, as if by magic.

This semester has certainly wasted no time in dumping on the assignments. Strangely, while the workload is definitely less, I find myself much more stressed than usual. Perhaps it’s been my recent re-discovery of the concept of procrastination, that wonderful indulgence which, much like smoking, leaves you gasping for breath, utterly exhausted, after having experienced its throes.

Some would probably disagree and say that’s sex. Anyway.
