Social habits

Are what most people develop on the playground, during their childhood, perhaps when they meet their first companion of sorts toddering about the swings, or maybe when they get into their first fistfight with the local bully. These skills of ours are honed, of sorts, through the many encounters we are faced with throughout our lives.

It is unfortunate, then, that people tend to delve too deep into such trivial things, wasting resources on billiard tables, bowling alleys, overpriced sustenance, and many more wonderous (and all expensive) things, I am sure. It is for such a purpose that they are unable to enjoy certain luxuries of sorts, and then lament about their fate.

I refer, of course, to the ownership of a Playstation 3 along with its (arguably) definitive title, Metal Gear Solid 4. Chiff came by over last weekend under duress, or so I would imagine him insisting, to sample its unbelievable number and length of in-game cutscenes.

I’d like to think that he enjoyed it, but personally, I think he was nearly driven nuts by the innate intricacies of the plot twists, and it showed in his gameplay. He somehow managed to actually die during the first section of the game, which, while a feat in itself, was compounded by the fact that I set the game on practically dumbfuck difficulty in anticipation of his sheer disdain for anything involving care.

He did like Drebin, though, so there’s hope. He’s also expressed interest in purchasing a PS3 of his own to complement his already well-established Xbox 360, which could only spell good times for me and, perhaps, an electrical nightmare for his already overcrowded living room.

Additionally: yes, that is my Samsung 24-inch touch-operated LCD screen, exclusively dedicated for use to my PS3. Beautiful, isn’t it? Did I mention it’s fucking touch-operated because how cool is that shit?!

I also recently went for a former class outing just yesterday, on the pretension of having a great fucking time with friends minions. Ostensibly I was trying to look for a copy of Virtua Fighter 5 in the shopping mall nearby, but by the time I headed there after dinner the whole place had shut down. So much for the Singaporean nightlife.

I did get a few shots though before I toned it down somewhat, mostly because one guy got a little annoyed by the intensity of my camera flash.

Marcus and Farhan sharing sustenance.

The dinner, I suppose, could be summed up in a simple expression: FUBAR. Or, a complete rip-off. I did get to update myself with my former classmates’ exploits, though, so I guess most people wouldn’t refer to it as a complete waste of time.

In the meantime, though, it’s time to enjoy just a little bit more of my Playstation experience before heading back to work tomorrow.

P.S. As per my usual stuff, fullsize images are available upon request if you somehow require a mega-poster of sorts on your wall, or worse, bedspread.
